*shakes broken pocket watch, raises an eyebrow, then snaps his fingers; the pocket watch begins to function as if new*
"
Time. Sure likes to fly, does it not?"
Time, transpires faster in the Gmodverse than it does out here, so long as there are no open windows from
our world into theirs,
Time from these open windows cause slight changes to synchronize the two universes.
This slowdown in
Time appears to pose no ill effects.
Which brings me to what I do. The strifes in the Gmod universe aren't as complex as out
hereTime, is not simply something that can be measured, stored, or kept track of with silly devices such as
clocks.
Time, is it's own.
All of these devices are used to alter it's influence on beings. Not by physical means, but by instilling a notion that clocks are essential to everyday life.
Try this for yourself, remove all traces of
clocks from your life for a week. Or longer if you deem it necessary. Learn to judge the day by the amount of light from the sun, from the
moon.
They say those bound by the influence of
clocks live shorter lives. It is not an impossibility, but when one
looks at it from another angle, it is the very
dependence that is killing you slowly.
"I'm LATE!"
"I'm in a rush, out of my way!"
"I'm in a hurry."
"No Time, bye!"
"Oh, I'm not gonna make it to work on Time..."
"'30 minutes, or it's free'? EXCELLENT!"
"Lunch is always so short..."
"Oh...fucking hell, my term paper is late; I'm gonna flunk the semester!"
"The director wants this done yesterday...I can't work that fast!"
"I need to make HOW many in an hour!?"
*Daylight Savings Time*
All these little stresses over
Time eventually turn into one BIG thing. The very stress that kills people, not by direct means, but via shortening one's life span by a good deal.
Slow the fuck DOWN. You're not doing your family any favors by over-stressing yourself with last second deadlines. You're 'late' only because you
want to be late. Otherwise, you would have left
sooner and arrived with plenty of
Time to roll UP the stairs. When you rush, you tend to miss out on things. You'll never have the opportunity to
see it ever again, or even in the same way it was meant to be seen.
